More Music from that Electronic Music class I’m taking

The assignment this time was to take 15 seconds of audio and turn it into a 90 second piece. What I did was go around campus sampling different doors and also an organ. I took those samples and a few other sounds and made this piece, entitled Dorgans (Doors and organs).

Electronic Music (Again)

Well, here’s my second project from that electronic music class I’m taking. This time my teacher allowed us to actually use a beat in the music! Yay! If anyone out there is a Mistaken Identity (my old band) fan, then you might just recognize some parts of this one.

Electronic Music

This semester I’m taking a computer music class, and our first project was to create some non-traditional music. (no identifiable pulse or melody). Here’s what I did:

favicon.ico

W00t! After trying and trying and becoming frustrated and then trying some more, I finally got my favicon.ico to work. Don’t know what that is? It’s the little icon thingy you can see up next to the URL of this page in the address bar. (Note: IE users won’t be able to see this until they add the site to their favorites because IE sucks) Everyone please be excited for me, because I certainly am.

Also everyone should be excited about my amazing talent at creating a 16×16 pixel logo. (Sarcasm anyone?)

Some More Music

Well I was a bit bored today, so I figured I’d record something I’ve been working on over the last few days. It’s still kinda rough, but like I said, I was bored.

Let me know what you think.

Guitar Hero

I recently obtained the PS2 game Guitar Hero. It is outstanding in every way. I’d write a full review of it, but I’m lazy and my brother already wrote one anyways. So I’ll just give you a link to read his: link.

Song: Quotidian

I’ve been messing around with the USB interface on my Line 6 POD XT Live for recording guitar, and it turns out that it gives me a very nice signal with no noise. Using this new method of recording, I made this song, which I have named “Quotidian” for no reason other than it’s fun to say. Enjoy.

Check out the sweet stereo seperation on the harmonized lead at the beginning.

Peaches

This semester I took a course called “Studio Techniques 1″. In this course, we learned all about how to use the recording studio here on campus. Our assignment as a class was to take the song ‘Peaches’ by The Presidents of the United States of America and record it ourselves. Here is what we came up with.

After this project was done, we were told to make individual remixes in which we could do anything we wanted to the song. Add parts, remove parts, etc. Here is what I came up with for my remix.

Gigantic Robot

Well here it is: The first take on the theme song for www.giganticrobot.com

My friend Ross and I wrote and recorded it.
